I own the whole loop.

At AptEdge I don't stop at the edges of a ticket. I talk to customers, shape what we build, design it, build it, and look after it in production.

Customers

On calls with customers: hearing the problem first-hand, debugging their issues, and closing the loop when the fix ships.

Redesigning AptEdge, screen by screen.

I redesigned and rebuilt AptEdge's product: the AI search, the answers, the integrations and the way in. Drag across each screen to compare the old app with the new one.

AI search across every connected source: one question, answered from tickets, articles, edges and docs.

New, AI-powered

Knowledge gap detection

It reads closed tickets, checks each one against the articles and docs that exist, and clusters what's left into recurring issues. One article per cluster can close dozens of tickets at once.

Knowledge gap detection: open gaps, coverage and the detection rulesCovered gaps: clusters covered, tickets addressed and coverage rate

AI that ships, not demos.

By day I work at AptEdge, which builds AI agents for B2B technical support. On my own time I build Glance, a voice explainer for Claude Code. Here's its pipeline.

Claude Code
live session
Transcript watcher
hooks and file events
Speakable text
markdown to speech
Neural voice
on device, Core ML
Orb and diagrams
drawn as it speaks

Cloud voices (ElevenLabs, MiniMax) slot in at the voice stage, fetched one paragraph ahead, with the on-device voice as the fallback.

LLM-native product

Glance follows live Claude Code sessions, renders each streamed reply as it lands, and lets you ask Claude about a selection right in the editor.

Agents in the loop

A headless Claude Code runs in auto mode when no terminal session exists. Next: drafting pull requests and fixing review comments with Claude.

Voice AI, on device

A neural voice (Kokoro-82M through Core ML) speaks every reply offline, with ElevenLabs or MiniMax as a cloud option that fetches one paragraph ahead.

AI-native engineering

Specs, plans, reviews and parallel agents are part of how I ship, with the judgment to know when the model is wrong.

Case study

A five-year-old bug, gone.

Our search workers had been restarting every few minutes for five years, and each restart took about five minutes. On a busy day they spent 73% of their time starting up, and pods were killed when both workers were down at once. I found two causes and fixed both.

One hour of one worker starting up serving requests
Beforeprod, Oct 5Afterstaging, Oct 60 min10 min20 min30 min40 min50 min60 min

Restarts were frequent

Cause.
Workers restart after a request limit, and health checks counted toward it. About 95% of requests were health checks.
Fix.
A pre_request hook gives each health check back, so it nets to zero. Seven lines and a test against a real SyncWorker.
def pre_request(worker, req):
if req.path == HEALTH_CHECK_PATH:
worker.nr -= 1 # probes don't age the worker

Restarts were slow

Cause.
Each worker start read a Git repo with one git show per file: about 3,300 processes.
Fix.
One git ls-tree and one git cat-file --batch per branch. File contents come out identical.
# before: 3,300 × git show <branch>:<file>
git ls-tree -r <branch>
git cat-file --batch # every blob, one process

Mar 2022 - Present

AptEdge

Senior Software Engineer

AptEdge builds AI agents for B2B technical support. I own features end to end: talking with customers, shaping the product, designing the UI, and building it front to back.

  • Redesigned and rebuilt the core app (AI search, answers, integrations, sign-in) and shipped AI knowledge gap detection.
  • Designed and built the new company website, aptedge.io.
  • Work directly with customers: hear the problem first-hand, debug their issues, and close the loop when it ships.
  • Shape the product with the team: scope, priorities and specs, turned from customer feedback into the roadmap.
  • Design the interfaces I build, and keep them consistent through shared UI libraries.
  • Fixed a five-year-old bug that restarted search workers every few minutes; worker startup fell from about 5 minutes to about 40 seconds.
  • Modernised the frontend tooling and drove performance work across rendering, state and data fetching.
  • Mentor and reviewer: performance, architecture and best practice across the team.

  • Led the migration from React to Next.js with TypeScript.
  • Cut API calls by about 40% with debouncing, event delegation and better state handling.
  • Wired up Sentry for production errors and MoEngage through Google Tag Manager.
